About The Artist
Hannah is an emerging artist whose work features animals, landscapes, and the female figure. Her oil paintings are strongly influenced by traditional techniques and subject matter, but also by the artist’s personal experience of connecting to nature in a modern world. Interested in nature, history, and myth, her work questions how we represent and shape the world around us.
Currently studying Painting, Drawing and Printmaking at Arts University Plymouth, she is primarily a painter with a preference for watercolours and oils. Lately she has been experimenting with visual and surface texture, incorporating collage elements such as silver leaf into her work, and playing with pigments and mediums. She is especially interested in transparency and layering, seen in both her use of glazing and collaged tissues.
